Magical Girls is a coming-of-age short film by and for the queer community. This film is an ode to sisterhood, queer friendship, and love - all the messy parts of it. Magical Girls is a love letter to all the queer folx who are making mistakes and picking themselves up to try again.

We began in June 2023, with an ambitious 3-month pre-production, funding, and 4-day shooting schedule.

We raised over $17,500 in 30 days to shoot Magical Girls on Super 16mm film in Laney & I’s humble Chicago apartment.
